A little input please

Today I have been called a raciest, as well as stupid and a few other things while out having breakfast with some friends. This happened yesterday and a 10 year old girl was killed, due to her mothers alleged involvement with drugs. As far as I'm am concerned the mother should be not only charged with drug violations but as an accessory to murder as well.
Anyone who has known me for any time knows how I feel about kids and old folks, so tell me please what you think, or am I way out in left field on this.

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco says Taniyah Thomas was shot in the head at about 3:50 a.m. Monday at her home about 20 miles southwest of Pittsburgh.

Washington police Det. Daniel Stanek says the girl, her mother, her mother's boyfriend and a baby were asleep when the shots were fired through the apartment door. Taniyah died of a head wound about 30 minutes later at Washington Hospital.

Police say the shooter didn't enter the apartment. Police say it isn't clear whether more than one suspect was involved.

Well the people involved are non white, so naturally any time some thing is said against them you suddenly become a raciest. And race is not the issue, the fact a precious young soul as died and drugs were allegedly involved.

I have a soft spot for kids with sh..head parents, they didn't get to choose their looser parents. I always wonder if they will follow their parents lead or learn what not to do.

This is all the paper had this morning, and the TV news didn't have to much more, and no the alleged "N" word was not used as this has nothing to do with race, ( just the fact that they" the persons involved" are black is enough to set some people off, into the I am ashamed to be white and anything you say against them is wrong and racial) just the death of a 10 year old girl by someone shooting through the door. And the thing that bothers me is she died for the crimes of her mother or mothers boyfriend or maybe both.
I have like you said a soft spot for kids and old folks that cannot defend them selves against acts of violence.
Was it a drug deal gone bad or retaliation for something I don't know I just know that a little girl was killed because of it

I read the story (race was not even mentioned in the story) and I felt the same way!
I think it incredibly sad how some people raise there kids, and the situation they put them in.
Look at any meth / drug addict parent no matter what their race and they all do the same things to there kids and family!

You hit on the head behavioral, there's plenty of sh..heads regardless of race. But you guys are right you can't anything against anyone or you're a racist. It's a easy cop out for stupid people or politicians....

If fact and I hate to get on a rant but a lot of folks are too sensitive anymore. You can't say this or that cause it might hurt someone's feelings.

My opinion is based on what you have told us about the story. First of all let me say what a tragedy for the young child, unfortunately it happens almost every day somewhere in America. Not sure where the raciest comments from your friends came from, but it does not appear to come in to play here. However in this situation I could not agree with a murder charge against the parents. We can not revamp the entire judicial system to fit a particular case. But there are other charges that might be what the parents deserve.

That is a shame for sure what happened to that innocent little girl. No I don't see you as being raciest for merely talking about the current events.

Down here in my neck of the woods there has been a bunch of shootings lately. 3 different drive by shootings into 3 different homes in a matter of minutes apart. Plus one innocent person out for a stroll got shot in the foot.

A little off the subject but sorta the same thing, we have had 6 or more kids that have been killed in car accidents here at school over the last 3+ years. All of them are tragic, but they all share something in common, all were NOT WEARING their @#@##@ seat belts, some where speeding, some were out at 4 AM, some where drinking, all died, many were thrown from their cars.......and each time I ask WHY in world do these kids not understand that the seat belt is not bullet proof BUT will help you see another day. I have 3 boys, all had agreements with me, moving violation or cell phone or etc, and my car and your license are gone. But I was called something too, like insensitive when I found out that they were not wearing the seat belt. I know many of us old birds may not agree with seat belts, but then again the dead people cant talk for us either. I would not give it a second thought, you simple stating what someone else is thinking and scared to say. The truth does hurt, and you cant humble an idiot (parents in this case)

Out of everyone I know and consider online friends you wouldn't be even remotely close to the raciest scale. Who ever said that needs a slight tap on the side of the head. Well maybe not that slight

As some of you know my lovely Wifey-Poo and I adopted our beautiful kids due to the bio (cough cough) parents (I really have issues with calling them parents more like a donor and incubator) un-willing or inability to get off drugs. All my kids need is love, stability, stability and discipline and I don't think that is too much to ask for. They had no regard for anybody but themselves. If someone puts anybody in harms way and they get hurt and or killed due to their actions they need to be charged with something. Now I guess I'm a racist as well
