Does anybody happen to know the differences mechanically between the 10hp and 14hp variants of the z482? I’m using one to power an apu for a semi truck. It has enough power to run the ac compressor and typical alternator draw, but under a heavy load the alternator can snuff it out (100amp+). While the easy option would be to swap the z602 I have in, I’d like to make the z482 work as they’re easy to come by if/when I build more APU’s.
All that said, from what Iv found the 10hp and 14hp variants use the same pistons, so compression is the same. The difference must be injectors? Timing? Or a combination of the two?
