I have a BX 1870-1 with a BX2751 quick hitch which I use with a snowblower and 60" plow. I just bought a 2370 and it appears I need to buy a longer PTO shaft. Can I just buy part number 70060-02338 and call it a day or do I need to replace the output shaft PN 70001-00772? https://messicks.com/v2/ku/84775

Thanks,
Andy

Andy - I don’t think you need a longer drive shaft with couplers.

I think you need a longer output shaft for your front hitch. Runs in the pillow bearings in the front hitch.

Don’t have time to search the forums right now, but there’s another shaft about 4” longer that gets mounted into your hitch.

If you can get to it before me, search the forums here the BX2751, and I bet you find it. Seems exact measurements have been mentioned. Know I was part of a couple of them.

I could be wrong. Just speaking from memory. I might be confusing putting a BX2751 on a B series, versus difference between a BX18xx and BX23xx or BX26xx.

Was quicker to grab ops manual.

I think differences are output shaft BX2752 and BX2753. Seems like 52 is about 11+” long and 53 is 14+”. Note the pillow bearings mount differently.

This is the BX2752 - the shorter shaft.

This is the longer BX2753. This is what I have for my BX2360 tractor.

Gains you 3 3/8” in reach over the shorter one.
