I have a 2020 MX54000 with 65 hours on it. Starting last weekend, about every 4 hours, the water separator warning light comes on for about 10 seconds and it beeps three times. Then the light goes out. When I look at the separator, the red ring is at the bottom. Any ideas? Anyone have experience with a faulty sensor for this? Am I looking at the wrong thing for this warning light? Draining the water separator is supposed to be 400hr service.

My 6000 does the same thing. I’ve even replaced the bowl and sensor under warranty, same symptoms. I have found it only does it at lower rpm, when backing up to implements. I let it beep and go on about what I’m doing.

I haven't experienced this on either of the MX6000s. I had the open station from new and put ~110 hours on it before selling. I have ~130 hours or so on the cab version but also without issue.

There must be something in the water! I was at a friend's for dinner yesterday and his L4060 is out of commission with what he thinks is a water in fuel issue. He didn't have a light or buzzer come on, but he had 2" of water in the bottom of the separator. Even after draining the fuel he couldn't get the engine to stay running.

Take the bowl off and clean and dry the bowl then spray some WD40 on the sensor.
Then reinstall.

I have developed the same problem on my year old MX5400 with about 68 hours but it only happened once earlier this week.
I read somewhere that there was a service bulletin issued for the problem.
Anyone know anything about it.

Don’t know of the service bulletin, but I told my dealer what was going on and they gave me a new bowl/sensor to install. It is still acting up after sensor replacement.

My MX6000 is doing the same. No water in the bowl, 65 hrs on tractor. not often but has been doing it for several months. Seems to be worse on startups.
