I have a KX 033-4 mini ex. It's 4 yrs. old with 1660 hrs. Could not get service records for it, so don't know if valves were checked at the recommended 800 hrs. Engine runs good and is quiet. Was wondering if anyone out there has done this job and how time consuming it is to get the valve cover off. Any advice will be most appreciated.

I am gonna go out on a limb and say - it might "need" adjusting - but maybe it is not worth it.
I am all about "maintaining" equipment - but if that is running well it might be wise to leave it alone.
Is it making a ticking noise when cranked up cold? You said it was quite, so I am gonna say do not adjust.
Looking at the manual - it does not mention valve adjustment!
