Hello, I just purchased an old box blade from a guy who doesn’t know much about it because he just bought the property and the previous owner left the box blade. I need your help with identifying the brand of the box blade and to see if it will work on my B2710. The hitch part on it was customized. The weight part on top of the hitch is filled with molten lead. It’s very heavy and I worry that it will break the 3PH on my tractor. I will take the metal container with lead off with disc grinder as it’s welded on with two sets of short beads. I’ll post several pictures of the box blade so if anyone knows the brand that would be great. There is a flap part on the back of the box blade, I am not sure what it’s for. Also I just purchased a set of 5 new shanks for it but I am not sure how to secure them on the box blade.

That flap is the cutting edge when it is folded down. Mine folded down pinned in place. How wide is that box. I put a 5.5 foot one on my B7800 like your tractor

It looks like there are two cutting edges. One in the normal location, and the hinged one on the back for pushing with the box blade rather than pulling. That's what it looks like to me at least. Notice that the cutting edge would be facing rearward once the hinged flap is folded down.

I’ll take a close look at the cutting edges later today. I am getting ready to take the weight container off the hitch.

Thirty, forty years ago there were a ton of those box blades in my area. Many little road side short line dealers selling 8N Fords, equipment and flat bed trailers. I think the thought were that piece with the hinge and cutting edge was suppose to help break up the clods and smooth out behind the box blade. Never saw a brand name on them but most were made in Texas as were a lot of flat bed trailers were back then. Buddy of mine down in Kansas sold a lot of those blades. He hauled a lot of trailers and short line equipment out of Texas to sell on his lot back in the 70's,80,s and 90's.

Rhino implements was in Texas. I was able to get an operator manual for an old tiller that had a nameplate with a model number.
