Another month, another issue I want to get clarification on!
My 1999 TG1860G recently started to have an issue where it would start up fine and mow okay for 15-20 minutes. However after that it may begin to inconsistently start to sputter and lose lots of power. RPM would struggle to climb and sometimes if I turned off the PTO and re-engaged it, it would die. Usually though if I disengaged the PTO and let it idle for a few minutes then issues would clear until it goes under load again.
I have a feeling this could be a cooling issue but I am not super sure. I was gonna flush the cooling system and soak that radiator. When I was running it, the crankcase was 200 degrees, the head was 190 degrees, the carb as 150 degrees. FD590V-AS08 engine.

Also I am losing reverse and it feels like the HST is slipping because it pulsates quickly but weakly and moves slowly. I got stuck on a hill trying to back up while mowing!

I'd suspect the fuel filter. When it dies, take the fuel line off up by the carb and blow into it. (have the fuel cap off to let air escape). Probably have to eventually remove the fuel tank and clean it out. Thar large fuel cap allows just about anything to fall in there!!

Once I can recreate the issue I will try this. I felt like its some situation of vapor lock or lack of fuel, however it often shoots giant plumes of whiter smoke if I turned it off and let it sit and then started it back up again so I am not sure if that relates to this issue.

Reverse issue was resolved with the adjustment of the linkages, mustve vibrated into a point where I couldnt go more than maybe 1 mph backward. Now it pulls hard in reverse and I can go 5 mph backward (though I need to lower that speed)
