OK maybe overkill but……So I was not a fan of the cheesy plastic fill cap on my l-2850’s hydraulic fill port. Seems flimsy and easy to cross thread. After pondering for a couple minutes, I discovered that the aluminum oil fill cap on the V-1702DI engine fits the hole for the HYD fill. So I bought a used engine fill cap off fleabay, I filed off all the 10w-30 and Japanese lettering , stamped “ HYD” and S-UDT2 in top, sanded, painted red engine enamel, baked at 170, new o-ring, and viola! New metal hydraulic fill cap.

Never the less, that’s what she’s getting! I like older and simple mechanical systems. No electronics, no computers, no smog crap. Every problem I’ve had with my Ram 2500/ cummins 6.7 is related to smog crap. Other than that, she’s bullet proof!
