I read several post about adding PS. I have a few questions…

What are the viable options for the Hydraulic power source?

Can I use the FEL controller power beyond port to power the cylinder?

What does the hydraulic plumbing schematic look like?

Any input is appreciated.

Yes you could do that.
Simple in and back out to where you came from if your going to do hydrostatic steering controller
It's just a loop.

Is there a hydrostatic steering valve that you recommend?

If I understand correctly my hose loop schematic is from the FEL PB port (which currently dumps into the reservoir I think), to the PS valve, to the cylinder, out of the cylinder to the reservoir…am I close?

The PB out of the FEL valve goes to the three point hitch valve (P in) then the sump.

So you need to eventually provide power from the pump through the valves back to the three point hitch. You also need to be concerned about the priority for steering over lifting. There may be a priority valve involved or the steering is first in the string so that steering is always the highest priority. Read about and then think about how that will impact your decisions. (I have no idea about how that priority is needed for your steering system and it might be inconsequential for you.)

I don't think it's that way on his as I think his FEL is a separate pump than the tractor pump.

But could be wrong.

I would tap into the feed for the three point.
It's harder to do on a D as there is no tap plate like the HST's.
But the reason this is a better option is then you really don't need to worry about aa priority valve as the on board pump is not doing a lot of work to begin with.

Do you want to fabricate all the parts or do you want it sort of in kit form?

IS this a DT or HST
Or better question does it have a Hydraulic tap block on the right side of the bell housing?

Let me confirm that the FEL is running off the hydraulic pump, behind the fuel injection pump, on the side of the engine?

Close no cigar on the plumbing
This will be the right way:
You can have the FEL control before or after the PS, you just need to keep the loop of P to PB to P to PB.

I'd also be inclined to divert the flow from the pump first to the power steering control valve and then to the loader to insure that the power steering works when lifting the bucket. Of course, a cheaper solution is more arm days in the gym
