Power shuttle problems?

I've always considered multi-disc wet clutches to be far superior in service life to the conventional dry clutch. Just a few weeks ago I spoke to a man about problems concerning his newly acquired M6800 with drive problems in forward gears. Just this morning I spoke to another man with similar problems with his M7060. This one has had the shuttle clutches replaced under warranty (so he says) at like 250 or so hours. Now he has another 200 or so on the tractor and is experiencing what sounds like major slipping problems in the forward clutch again.

I'm wondering if this is just a strange coincidence, or maybe others have seen or heard about issues involving low service life of similar Kubota power shuttle clutches?

I don't think it's a common problem. I know of an M7060 and an M7040 with hydraulic shuttle. Neither have had clutch problems. The 7040 has likely been the victim of abuse - lots of hay unloading etc. with multiple part-time drivers.
Riding the clutch or low pressure could be causes.

Possibly. No loaders involved here though. No history available on M6800 but the M7060 was used primarily as a mowing tractor as I understand it. His other tractors are all dry clutch machines and have survived as well enough. Seems rather strange to me.

Also the M6800 clutch has six plates per side, where the M7060 has only three. Roughly the same size tractor, power wise. Maybe they're bigger diameter plates?

Using the wrong fluid or lack of proper maintenance could be an issue too.
