I noticed a steady fuel leak and clearly something missing from my riding mower. I cannot locate a go manual and I’ve never used a riding mower let alone work on one. I’m pretty handy when I have a good reference and understanding of what I’m looking at but this is foreign to me. Need help. I’m assuming I need fuel lines or hoses to these to whole that are leaking fuel. What do I need and where do each end go to?

If you have fuel coming out of that port, it's got a float sticking and flooding or it has some damage inside the carburetor body.

curious, found this , appears to have an electric 'anti dieseling' valve'. When they get 'gummed up', they don't totally shut off gas flow ,so something else to check. Also be sure it gets 12 volt when key is on ( usually can hear a 'click' ,if you have good ears)

Is that the thing that is attached to the bottom of the carburetor with wires on it? I know that I have no clue what you are referring to and assume that @SheMowes might not have a clue either!

You might also need to be more specific about how to perform the test you recommend.

yes that's the 'thing' attached at the bottom of the carb
normal test is to remove from carb, apply 12v to the wires and see how far the 'rubber tipped plunger' moves ( if at all).
most move 1-8" or more( they're spring loaded, if they don't return you clean all the 'gunk' out of them, usually 2-3 -or more times. it should move fast and far. if after you clean it and it doesn't move, check the coil for continuity, maybe 100-200 ohms ? varies by make and model but if 'open', it's no good.
replacements can be pricey $50-$100 but i 4 decades never had to buy one,just needed good cleaning.

Don't know if the WSM covers this..bet they say 'replace entire carb' ?? I don't have a WSM for it,maybe someone can check ??

@SheMowes

This means you will need to clean the carburetor or rebuild the carburetor which is fairly easy but very technical. You may want to just replace it if it is not too expensive but I see that carburetor is no longer available new. So be CAREFUL with it!

I might try to spray some Seafoam into that hole and see if that helps. You can use that in the fuel also so it runs through the carburetor to clean it. I have not used it that way so can’t say that it works or not. There is also other cleaners like Berryman B12 carb cleaner that can be used to spray the carburetor exterior to clean that up.

I highly recommend that you stop using gasoline with ethanol in the fuel. That fuel is hard on small engine carburetors and mess them up when they sit with fuel in the carburetor. The ethanol holds water in the fuel and creates a mess. You should be able to find ethanol free fuel at some gas stations (QuickTrip and Murphy here in Texas)

Good luck with it

@Greenvillejay is showing pics for the wrong carburetor.
The fuel shut off on that model comes out the side:
