The odometer needle on my L275DT is more or less just fluttering around in the bottom of the gauge when the engine is running. The hour meter is still rolling.

I suppose this just means that the gauge itself is broken and that it's not a cable issue. Let me know if it could be otherwise. Thanks.

That kinda sounds like the needle isn't 'crimped' onto the shaft anymore.
The repair is easy, dab of clear nail polish, the 'fun' is opening up the case......

The needle is the Tachometer not the Odometer.

I would start out by taking the steering wheel off so you can then take the dash loose so you can then get to the rear of the tach and remove the cable. Get that cable end off and then start the tractor and make sure the tractor is actually driving the cable (by looking at the cable end and seeing if it is rotating and speeds up and slows down.

Then you will be sure the cable is turning properly. And you can then have access to the tachometer. I think you can just replace it with a used one from @007kubotaguy (in California) or try to fix yours or have it fixed by an automotive gauge repair company like this

If you just want a tachometer you can abandon yours and use a TinyTach for diesel engines.
