I have a MX5400 hstc that occasionally will not start (no fire to the starter), but not because of PTO switch being engaged. I try wiggling range selector, hstc pedal, ect., basically anything that might connect to a safety switch but I have yet to determine what I move that allows it to turn over. This doesn't happen all the time and usually I will get it started but it's definitely a nuisance! Anyone else having this problem and if so what's your secret to fixing it?

I had this same issue with my 5800 when I got it with 200hrs on it.
Turned out to be the terminals on the starter. Take some sandpaper to them, apply some dielectric grease and hopefully it should be good to go. From what I found online, it's quite common.

My 6000 had an intermittent start problem too. After all the wiggling of levers, I started checking fuses. Ended up being the 60 amp, I think it is, up by the battery. Fuse was good, loose connection in the block. Has been fine since.
