Besides standard and metric o rings and grease is there any other items I should have on hand if needed for a B2601? What to you all have in your onboard toolbox?

Rocky, welcome! Some folks attach to their tractor every hand tool they own, I think!

I have a very small tool box on the tractors that have a simple pliers, adjustable open end wrench (often referred to as a Crescent wrench), lynch pins, long pins for top links, flat bladed screw driver, box knife.... that's about it.

I carry some similar to D2Cat plus some channel locks. I also carry some chain and rope on board, but not in the toolbox. I consider those tools. With hooks welded on my loader bucket, it's amazing how many times I end up throwing chain around something to lift or pull.

A dead blow plastic hammer is very useful for changing implements.

I realize this is more to do with tools and fittings post but a small first aid kit or even some bandaids is huge. hooking up pto/ pins changing implements everything is sharp and wants to pinch fingers/ hands Even with with gloves. Not till last year have I ever needed a first aid kit but when you do and it’s not there it’s not much fun. A soft pouch ones are awesome 👍

Extra lynch pins, large slip joint pliers and a BFH. I often wish I had room for a pry bar. Sometimes you just need that little extra ooompff!

Maybe wasp spray? Not a tool, as such, I know. But I just got stung by one today on the middle finger when I was out there. I have kind of a ridiculous scream.

Thanks for all your replies. Anything I’m missing for in the shop for regular maintenance?
All the above mentioned tools are great ideas.
The best large/longer items I store in the loader mount cross tubes, using plumbers pressure test plugs on the ends.
The wing nut pressure test plugs are great, but only useful for the larger loader tube diameters.

Extra long pry bar will fit easily in loader cross tubes.

This is a whole nuther question and possible can of worms. Some are happy with a rag and a grease gun, others will have nothing less than a full blown metal shop. Opinions are all over the place here depending on your equipment, experience, and budget. You'll find your comfort level after a while and run into a few "gee I wish I had one of those".

One important item I've found necessary is a good torque wrench and socket set. CHECK THE WHEEL LUG NUT TORQUES five minutes after they deliver the tractor and swore up and down they checked them before delivery!!! Put a permanent line across the lug nut and bolt so you can quickly check if they moved at all.

An air compressor and digital air gage is pretty handy also. Blow out the air filter, radiator, MMM after every mow. I check tire pressure at least once per month.

( "blow out the air filter, radiator/MMM" ) etc.)
Better yet,...buy a ZT mower!
Tractors are best for used for tractoring,.... not lawn mowing,.....as Hagrid so strongly suggests.

I'd love a ZT but with Social Security under attach and tariffs tanking my 401K I don't have the budget. We all must do with what we can. I'm extremely happy with my little BX1880 and surprised at the amount of work it's able to do, including mowing. Now if I can only find a "nice" used landscape rake at a reasonable price...
