I will be taking delivery of a L3800 HST with loader (quick attach) ballest box, 6' scraper, 6' box, and a 6' land pride finish mower. I took the advise of this forum and contacted Bradey Barlow from Ky. He answered all my questions and got me a great deal on the package! I will be getting a drum of diesel fuel tomorrow so I don't have to interrupt "play time"

Any advise on max rpm for the first x hours? The grass is about 3' tall now so I will borrow my friends L3400 with a brush hog to clear the jungle. I also need to line up a few loads of top soil to the Sandusky, OH area.

Congratulations on your new tractor.

As to break-in I believe there are some old threads, but I bush hogged with our L5740 and M8540 from the day I got them and some of it was over the hood. I mowed at or close to 540 RPM, but allowed periodic cool down times and also varied the RPM from time to time. I found I could work pretty much the same during break-in as after with the exception of long runs at the same RPM.

I have yet to run the tractor myself and it has been killing me. It is stored in the garage of my new house and I get the keys tomorrow. Of course I will post pics asap!
