What type surface are the ruts in? Grass in yard, dirt path, gravel, sand, pasture?

Generally box blade (pretty easy and versatile), back blade (a bit harder than boxblade and arguably more versatile), or land plane (easiest because designed to level and maintain roads/paths, but least versatile). I have a boxblade and back blade. For fixing ruts, I’d go with the box blade. If I had a land plane I might use that, but I don’t have one.

Any of those will destroy grass or other plants, so if preserving grass in the rutted area is a goal other methods, such as sanding, may be more appropriate.
