40 miles south of Kansas City
That's Missouri River, 340 miles paddling a water craft! They start in Kansas City where the Kansas river converges with the Missouri and go 340 miles towards St. Charles. There are different classes: men's solo, women's solo, pedal drive. tandem peddle drive, SUP. i didn't know what SUP was, but when I found out I couldn't hardly believe it. Stand Up Paddle. These are small flat craft and they stand (or kneel down) for the entire 340 miles!

This event is scheduled when there is a full moon. They start at 7AM. Some don't make it too far, some will take a nap at some point, some keep on going through the night. There are dredges shifting locations, as they are working the bottom for sand. There are freight barges moving up the river, besides everything else you can imagine.

They just finished this year's trip. Fastest time was like 40 hours! 340 miles in 40 hours. If you've ever been on a float trip down a river, this is much more intense. They all have a support crew that meet with them at assigned locations along the river to renew supplies.
