My buddy is home on leave from the military for a few days and he went to go move some snow and noticed he was dumping oil on his M9000. He bought it when he was overseas and its the first time he's been back to run it and this happened. Does anyone know where this might be coming from? I've included a picture. Thanks in advance.

Maine, dang cold, probably FROZEN, oil looks kinda 'watery',
be nice to see WHERE that hose is from...
..though below it is ANOTHER open hose, kinda laying left to right

Good chance the two should be one ? Can't believe there would be TWO open ended hoses like that !!!
I tried looking at online parts, but 8-10 versions, no good dwgs of whatever 'valve block' is in the picture.
A better description would really help as to where the hose goes !

We think it's the valve cover vent coming off the top of the engine block. We are going to check the hydraulic oil level tomorrow and see if that's low. Sorry very little info here and we are both pretty much noobs when it comes to tractors. That photo is from a video clip. I could post the video to youtube and post a link to it here if that helps?

Typically speaking to get the best chance of a diagnosis over the internet it is best to provide as much information as possible. A few pictures always help as well. Check engine and trans/hydraulic oil to see if the levels are down.

Went over to his property today and the hydraulic fluid is empty, we checked the oil and it's clear....our guess is the hydraulic pump seal has failed and now the hydraulic fluid has made its way over which caused the overflow to spew. Hopefully it's just a seal and nothing worse. The pump looks to be about 1700 bucks by itself. Luckily he parked it in a place where it is covered and can be worked on when he comes back this summer.

Not sure how the pump is installed on the m9000 but often when the pump seal goes bad it dumps the oil into the crankcase. Check the engine oil level and if it is high do not run the engine until the pump is repaired or replaced and all oil levels are correct.

Well my buddy is back home again after his latest tour and the oil seal was blown. He took it to the local Kubota dealer and they thought that whoever installed the 3-way function (which was installed as part of the purchase) did it incorrectly and it somehow over-pressurized and blew the seal. I don't think I mentioned it before but this happened the very first time he ran the tractor after buying it when he got home on his break last winter.
