M6800 4x4 The front differential locking lever is resting on the floor of the cab as if it were depressed. There is slack in the cable adjustment at the rear of the tractor. I took all the slack I could out and the lever is now raised off the floor but only about half way up to where it should be. On the adjustment spot at the rear of the front axle the spring is intact and the cable is adjusted so that the spring is pulled and under constant tension and the arm that the spring is attached to appears to in the locked position. The cable is not broken, but appears to possibly be stretched. So my question is this, is it possible that the previous owner adjust the cable so that the front axle would be locked in all the time when in 4 wheel drive, and if this is the case should I leave this as is or buy a cable and fix?
