m6040 3rd function valve sticks

The electric controlled 3rd function valve sticks on the loader control lever of my M6040, sometimes. When I used the thumb push button switches, some times you can hear the hydraulics straining after the button is released (the implement is deadheaded at the extreme of travel). If I bump the opposite direction button, it will correct to center. Anyone have this problem?

You will need to isolate whether it's an electrical problem or a hydraulic problem. I know you think it's a hydraulic problem, but you're going to want to test the wire(s) for power and make sure power goes away immediately after releasing the button. I have seen some of the wires directly on the switch fail from time to time.
