I have a m5400 tractor. When I work it and it’s getting hot it skreeches to a halt and stalls the engine. I can start it up and drive away. I had the clutch replaced because I thought that was it. There were two seals leaking in the clutch area so we replaced them and the two bearings. Ran it for 40 hrs ish and it did it again. Any idea

What trans does your tractor have?
Dave
I can go look at it and find a number but if the answer is as easy as saying it has a manual 4 speed with high low reverse on the side. That’s what I have. It feels like something completely locks up and stalls, the tires don’t skid on the ground but I can instantly start it back up and go

Any implements in use when it happens or happens with tractor by itself?

What tasks / implements are you using when it happens?

Check the front axle fluid level, it may be very low and your pinion shaft bearings seized.

Is it possible your brakes are seizing? What “gear” are you using when it skreeches to a halt?

(The M5400 and the M4700 are the same tractor… the M5400 just has a turbocharger on the same engine.)

I am pulling a set of 9’ disks with harrows behind. The engine temp is about 3/4 the way to the red line. But it happened after when I was going up a bit of a grade. The oil level is at the full line check it every day. The first time it did it I was pulling a sub soiler. Both implements are in the specs kabota has in the manual
