My M5-111 will start but for the most part it won’t start or do anything. When it does crank I can’t get it to crank again. It’s weird how it will start when it wants to. When it doesn’t start I don’t even hear the click of the fuel pump. It acts like it’s in gear or the PTO might still be on. Even though it’s not. I can only speculate that it’s a safety switch, the gear and clutch is out of sync or the ground wire could be corroded. Even though the ground wire looks fine. The battery is still good. So what are my best options to find out what the problem and fix is?

If it's a M5-111 it's probably still in warranty. If so, call your dealer.

If not, verify that the seat switch is closed. If so, post back with additional information.

It could indeed be a safety switch. Push your clutch pedal in and out several times. Work your PTO lever a few times. Lift the seat and actuate that switch several times, too. Hopefully if it's just dirty contacts that will get you going and narrow down your route to a fix.

Check battery cables for corrosion. Follow the cables (ground included) and check them all, every place along the way, for breaks and/or corrosion.

seat switch is not in the start circuit, thus has no bearing on a no-crank condition.

what is the voltage of the battery?
