Greetings all. I have a 1985 M4050 and I am seeing fuel in the Crankcase. Suspecting maybe a bad injector. Is there a way to isolate which one(s) is the culprit?

Thanks

I read that some tractors with lift pumps run off the cam can have a bad diaphragm and leak diesel into the crankcase. I believe my b7800 has that system

If in fact it is diesel most likely it is the small fuel lift pump. Your tractor has a CAV type injection pump. It is not uncommon for them to leak fuel into the crankcase as well. I would doubt that it is an injector. The other common problem is getting hydraulic oil into the crankcase by way of the front seal in the hydraulic pump. Generally you can disassemble the lift pump and look at the diaphragm until if it has a hole in it. Great old machine.
