Last Friday just sucked !

As several members here before me know what Im going thru , my wife of 58 years passed away Friday 3-28 after a nearly 14 year battle with Parkinson's and 4 year battle with heart problems. I thought I was prepared but no I wasn't, but I will be better.

I wish I could say it gets easier, the pain will ease, but sitting there in the middle of the night, you will hear a sound, a song or catch a whiff of something. And she will be there. and the tears will flow. I cannot help you , but if you need some to to bytch to or just a shoulder to cry on drop me a line. Try to remember the good times

Truly sorry to hear of your wife's passing, but congratulations on 58 years together. There will be good days and bad days ahead, but you know that. Many of us have experienced terrible loss, and we all deal with grief differently. All I can do is wish you all the best, and wish you many more good days ahead.

I'm 40, been with the wife since we were 15 years old, married since we were 23. 58 years together is amazing

I tear up immediately thinking about your situation. Be strong my brother, talk about it as much as you need to, to whomever you may need to vent to.

Don't know you from Adam, but i'd help you anyway I possibly could.

If you're religious, seek Jesus. If shes religious, then know that she is with Jesus, and better than she could ever possibly be now. No more parkinsons, no more heart problems. Only waiting to see her husband again.

I pray for your loss but truly feel your pain. My wife and I have been married almost 58 years, I knew her for five days when I prosed …. And she accepted. A little over three years ago she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and has been in a nursing home for 15 months. I lose a little bit of her every day and I can’t do anything to stop it.

thanks, I understand the memory loss as Donna was really going down hill with memory , mobility,& ability to speak. I was wishing/hopeing for about 2 more years before assisted living for her . her heart condition won the battle over Parkinsons as to what got to end her life.
Thanks every one. It will be tough but God will help.

I’m sorry for your loss. And this really hits home. My wife has a terminal condition and is probably in her last year or two. I’m sure that I will be going through the same thoughts as you. We have been preparing for 5 years, but still…

A bit of sad times in my end of the planet also
My brother from another mother of 45 years of apple picking and processing into apple juice was buried this weekend. 2 months shy of his 80th and 5 months older than me.
We made over 100,000 liters of apple juice in that time
We had lots of laughs and won 21 1st. places at the local Fall Fair Horseshoe Tournament.

He used a Kubota tractor for his potato patch
