I have a ~ 1996 Kubota B-2400 with a LA-351 Loader. I removed the spool cap and plastic spacer from the left side of the control valve to better access the hose connection to the control valve to replace a leaking hose. After replacing the hose, I reinstalled the spool cap and plastic spacer. Unfortunately, the spool cap slightly cracked when I was tight the cap screw – I thought it was the plastic spacer. I ran the tractor and it seemed to run well with full power for all bucket positions. Float also seemed to work.

I then removed the spool cap (discovered it cracked) and found one ball bearing loose in the spool cap. The control valve is marked 1625 AP (model no.) and KG476C (serial no.). When I search for this control valve, the parts diagram at Messick’s ( Kubota LA351 (FRONT LOADER) Parts Diagrams ) does not appear to match my control valve. I may be misreading the diagram but it does not look like my set up.

In my ideal word, I would buy the right spool cap and put the ball bearing in the right place = put them on and be good to go. If not, buy the correct float dent kit or rege dent kit and install. Your help is appreciated.

Yea your valve doesn't look like it matches the listed OEM valve.
Give me the loader serial number.
Any labels on the valve?

Odd thing is the other prints look like the right detent sections.

The numbers on the body of the valve are 1625-AP (part #?) and KG476C or KG476O (serial No.?) - I can look again but I suspect I would have to take apart the valve body. Thanks for your help.

I cannot have my tractor down. In the short term, I was considering epoxying the spool cap together sticking the ball bearing at the end of the post that sticking out. This is a cry for help - any better ideas?

Used JB Weld on the cracked spool cap. We shall see in 24 hrs. Low pressure area I hope?
It's a no pressure area, so you could use epoxy to stick it back together.
I would just leave the ball out of it, you're just losing float.
