L3901 Hood Latch Issue

The latch works fine opening, but closing it wont catch. I was researching how to change out the grill as a branch cracked mine. But the hood doesn't want to catch. The hood looks aligned since I was thinking it might not be after the branch went through the mesh grille.

Is there an adjustment to the latch?

Can you take some pictures so we can compare what yours looks like to ours? This might help us figure out what is going on with your latch.

I had trouble with the hood on my MX5100. I took a round file and cut some of the bottom latch away. Works so much better now. Latches and even unlatches better now.
