So I bought a 1993 L3650 and have been been fixing some things on it, but am having issues with the tachometer. It hasn’t worked since I got it. Just dead needle. Replaced the tach cable and amazingly it came to life…..sort of. It now reads 1000 - 1200 rpm’s when I’m running the tractor. Adjusting the throttle moves it a bit but it’s just not functioning properly. Even now with the tractor off it is reading 1000 rpm’s ( last night it was down at 0). i know Kubota doesnt have the instrument cluster anymore and finding one is near impossible.
so the question is, which side is the issue? Block side or gauge side. At this point I’m guessing gauge side. Any thoughts on how to fix the gauge/needle? Thanks.
