We have a 2018 L2501Hst with FEL, BH, Forks, BH, and recently a new PTO a powered chipper. We have maintained the tractor per the operator manual schedule and have accumulated 395 hrs operation time. Recently we have had to re-fill the hydraulic level up to 1 1/2 qts 3-4 times with no evidence of leaks anywhere. We have had the dealer pick the tractor up and are waiting for their service department to get it in the shop.

The dealer thinks we have hydraulic fluid leaking from the fluid pump into the oil reservoir. The local dealer service manager has advised us this is very rare at they have not seen this issue before on this tractor.

I would appreciate anyone on this forum that has had this issue with their L2501 please tell us about your experience and how it was resolved.

Thanks in advance!

I've not had that experience with my Kubota and it may be rare. I did have it with my Mitsubishi. Hydraulic fluid can get past a shaft seal on the splined drive and leak into the crankcase. My fix was a new hydraulic pump. I suspect if one can replace the shaft seal that would be all that's needed. If you check your dipstick I suspect you'll find your missing hydraulic fluid there. Too much oil in the crankcase can damage an engine so lower the level if you wish to continue adding hydraulic fluid.
