I have a L-185 tractor that I purchased recently used, and when I checked the gear box opening, I saw the fluid foaming. I don't know what is in the bos, or when it was last changed. What do you-all recommend for the fluid? The manual says 80/90 gear oil.

Use a good universal tractor hydraulic fluid. You can use Kubota UDT or something similar to this

If the fluid is milky or peanut butter color then it has water in it. You will need to change it again in the near future if it has water in it.

Drain the case using the lower points on the inside of the rear wheel drive case and the transmission bottom.

Fill level is a plug on the side of the transmission near the clutch pedal.
