Kubota F2100E Hydrostatic

Hi,
My old F2100E 2wd mower's hydrostatic transmission is starting to struggle. After the machine warms up and has done some work like climbing a few hills, the mower really slows down in both forward and reverse. Leaving it a few minutes, for the hydraulic oil to cool a bit, often brings it back to normal.

Often hydraulic oil will shoot out of the breather when under load which makes me think air could be entering the system somewhere. Attached image shows the breather in yellow

I have changed to hydraulic oil, filters, cleaned screens, cleaned the oil cooler, but the problem persists.

Is there another obvious thing I could look at or is it most likely just a tired, old, hydrostatic unit.

The deck lift and power steering work fine.

when the tractor is hot there is a huge difference in temperatures in the oil pipes on either side of the oil cooler. In the image below, pipe 010 is cool to touch, whilst the pipe on the other side of the oil cooler (not shown) is really hot. Is this normal? or could I possibly have a blockage or maybe not enough circulation from the pump (shown bottom left)?

The #10 pipe is the suction side, so it will be cooler.

no, I have checked them for leaks they seem ok and the screen is clean. The reason I asked is because google mentioned this -

If one side of your tractor's oil cooler pipe is hot while the other is not, it could indicate a problem with the oil flow or the cooler itself, potentially a blockage or a failing cooler.

The difference in temperature on either side is very noticeable, but maybe thats just normal.

I decided to take the hydraulic pump off. You can see the inout shaft is quite worn. Does this look bad enough to reduce the pumps output? and possibly contribute to the issues I have listed above? Its a 30 year old mower so im trying to decide how much I should spend on it vs getting a new one.

Nope the output will be the same if it wasn't worn, it's not like it's slipping.
