While I'm a good auto mechanic, this is my first time working on this. I'm attempting to fix a friends 2010 Kubota L4400 (I think it's a v2403?) that I found the injector pump to be bad. Number 4 cylinder just dribbles fuel out of the line. He took it to a Kubota shop and they verified what I found but in the diagnosis they said the pump needs to be replaced, "the number 4 fitting is spinning inside the pump"? This is what I need help with. What do they mean by this and is it repairable without having to buy a pump? He's bringing it to me tomorrow for me to pull the pump off and I figured I'd ask here for some advice. Thanks for any suggestions.

I'll save @North Idaho Wolfman the trouble and tell you to ship the pump and injectors to Oregon Fuel Injection. Unless you have a trusted local injector pump wizard.
Edit: I forgot the 'save the shims' part.

No this is not a DYI or Good auto mechanic fixable pump.
Pull the pump, remove and save all the shims (critical) as they set the timing.
Either find a local fuel injection shop to rebuild/ repair it.
Or send it to Oregon Fuel Injection to be fixed.

Got the tractor this morning and the pump off. Actually wasn't as bad as I though. There's a place that rebuilds them within driving distance so I'm gonna take it to them for service but I have one more question. I noticed this tag on the block and have no idea what it means? Thanks again for the help.

If you look at the linkage on the governor there will be two slots only the left side is the right slot.
It was a poor design, fouled up quite a few installs, hence the labels.
NOTE: some models only have the one slot.

Because 99.99% of people can not rebuild an Injector pump, let alone be able to properly test and set the fuel curve.
Appreciate it! Now to get it rebuilt and back together.
Back when i need an IP for an L305 Kubota wanted around $1100, had to order it in of course. Contacted Oregon Fuel Injection and they sent the exact new pump to my house for $425. Had it in a couple of days.
Many get the idea an IP is a costly repair, but not necessarily so.

Just checked their site and a rebuilt pump is $750 I'm getting ready to take this one in now to have it looked at and maybe rebuilt.
Took it in and it's gonna cost 800 bucks for a total rebuild. Good thing is it's only gonna take a couple days. Hopefully it'll be easy to bleed and all is good with it after it's back together.
