Hi all,

First post here and it's likely a stupid question.

I have a B2650 and I'm just wondering about the hydraulic pumps on it. I know it has a separate pump for steering and hydraulic functions (ie loader). My question is, does one of these pumps also power the hydrostat system, or does it have its own pump in the transmission?

Study this info and you will understand how the HST system functions.

An HST is comprised of a variable displacement pump and variable displacement motor located within the same assembly.

A small amount of hydraulic oil is provided to the HST unit by the tractor's overall hydraulic system but this is just to make up for the internal leakage that takes place and in no way does it power the HST.

Thanks Dave,

This is how I thought it worked. Though I didn't know that the hydraulic pump provided some oil.

Just second guessing myself.
