Hydraulics issues

I purchased a used Kubota BX25 from an estate sale last month. I do not know the hours on the machine but can tell it’s seen some abuse. I have done a basic service on the machine engine oil and filter change, hydraulic filter change, and flushed the radiator. My problem is when I work the machine for more than 30 minutes the hydraulics for my loader functions stop working but my steering and forward and reverse on the transmission work fine. Also I noticed the temperature of my boom cylinders was exceptionally hot not sure of temperature didn’t shoot it with the temp gun. I ordered seal rebuild kits for the loader boom cylinders and bucket cylinder to see if that works. If not what is the next step troubleshooting?

Quit guessing and blindly shotgunning parts at it. I would wager a fair amont cylinder seals are not your problem. There are a number of far more likely causes.

If you absolutely must spend money plunk down $25 for a hydraulic pressure gauge snd start doing some simple diagnostics.

First question - do you have connections for a backhoe on the machine?

I think something is causing your hydraulic relief valve to stay open, generating the heat and causing the loader malfunction. On your model, the relief valve is in the hydraulic pump so you should be able to feel, with your hand, the heat build up there on a cold startup.

I suspect something is keeping a valve open, which will cause the system to deadhead. My chief suspect is that the 3ph lift valve is not returning to center.

I don't own a BX, so I could be missing something.

I checked my pressure it’s at 1900 psi at the quick connect fitting.

At which quick connect, how was the gauge attached, what engine RPM, and what was the approximate oil temperature?
