All of a sudden my Hyd Top Link will not extend or retract. I have been using it for years with no problems. Hyds loads up (can see hoses move) in either direction, but cyclinder does not move. Shaft is not bent. I had to crack a fitting to releave pressure so I could pull a pin to remove cylinder from tractor. So happens I was going to remove cyclinder to use another attachment any way. What causes or caused this cylinder to lock up? Is it an imbalance in pressure and if so what causes this. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike

Bad or poorly connected coupler?

One did keep coming loose even when I reversed position of connectors (male end on hose), the same one came loose. I was told that that is the way they worked when pressure got too high (?), but that would be a cheap easy fix to try. Thank you for your response.
They dont decouple under pressure.. if they are breakaway type they will decouple whem something pulls hard on the hose.

Thanks for your last reply. You are correct about pulling loose when under strain. I will replace that male connector before I put HYD top link back on. Don't believe it is the female half because the other hose stayed plugged in where the bad one had been plugged in when I had swapped positions with the two hoses.
Thanks, Mike
