I have a John Deere X570 Mower. I also have a 1997 (I think) l2250 Kubota. I am thinking about selling both and seeing if I could get 1 tractor That I could mow and do some blade work with. How well would the HST or BX mow compared with my John Deere? How well would the Kubotas do with a 4' box blade?

Ive done a bunch of searching, and people love both models of Kubota, I have not found hardly anything on cut quality of the lawn mowers.

Lets see if we can clarify one detail
HST is a Hydrostatic transmission.
BX is a series of kubota tractors.
There is no HST VS BX as all BX's are HST.

A BX with a box blade is a work out, main reason it there is not a lot of tractor or weight to deal with, a standaard blade is fine but a box blade can hold a lot of material and get real heavy real fast.

The X570 is a Mower where the BX is a Garden tractor

Cut Quality should out do your x570.

N.Y,
I went from a 20 year old Deere 60 inch seven iron deck on my 4100 to a new BX 2360 60 inch Kubota deck. World of difference between the cuts with stock blades. Much better cut with the Deere. Switched the BX blades to gator g6 fusion blades and cut was better but not as good as the stock 7 iron deck. The lighter weight Deere decks and BX deck are close to the same. Depends on what Deere deck you have.

In 2013 I went from a 1996 JD 425 Garden tractor with 54" deck, front snowblower and blade to a BX2360 Kubota with Loader, 48" front mount snowblower, 54" mower, 48" box blade and 60" back blade, plus a few other 3 point hitch (3PH) attachments.

What do you use the Kubota L2250 for? Does it have a loader?

I found the 54" BX MMM (mid-mount mower) to be as good as the JD deck. Like @Sidekick, I use Gator G6 blades, but didn't have problems with OEM. Gator blades were cheaper than OEM at the time....

A BX will do a lot more than a x570. I have a 48" box blade, and it's probably my most-used behind mower and snowblower. Takes a little getting proficient with one, but is super. Literally has saved me $1,000's for yard work I would have otherwise had to have contracted. With the loader, I can re-surface my stone driveway with 20-40 tons of stone in a morning......

Again, looking forward to hearing what you use the L2250 for. That's a lot more tractor than a BX. A BX's capabilities might leave you lacking.

Love my BX, but I've looked at B-series Kubota's multiple times over 12 years. The B2601 would likely be my next, but don't know much about their MMM. Love my BX, but should have bought a (slightly) larger B-series the first time.

If you want a box blade, you definitely want a loader. Price hurts at first, but re-sale of a loader tractor is much better.
