I am trying to access a safety switch on my 2001 B7500 HST. It’s located near the clutch pedal but it’s underneath the cowl that conceals the steering column. There is speed lever(turtle/rabbit) lever I need to remove in order to remove the cowl.

Does anyone know how to remove this lever? There seems to be a pin holding it in place. It’s not threaded, not an Allen wrench, star wrench, or square. I have tried to carefully knock out the pin with a with hammer taps, it does not move. Help.

Are you trying to get to the switch for the clutch?

It's a roll pin, use a pair of vice grips to grab and squeeze the pin, then using a twisting motion to get it out.
You can also use a drift punch to help it come out after you clamp it with vice grips.

It often works best to use a very light hammer with sharp blows. An old spoon is always in my gun tool kit. Its heavy enough to do the job in many cases.
