Help With Model - T2380 Mower

Hello all.

So this past weekend picked up a T2380 lawn mower. My wife had spotted it at an estate sale, and it needed a little love, but the price was right so it followed me home. Working on getting it running and putting a parts list together, but am having some confusion based on what the appropriate model is.

The serial tag states its a T2380, but when I tried to go through my Kubota account and put it the serial, it says its a T2380A2. When I look at the parts illustrations, the A2 version has the Kohler 7000 series engine, while the other ones have the Courage, so I am thinking it must be the later ones in the series.

I am also wondering if that means what I have for tags on the deck and bagger also need to have the A2 addendum on them.

So do I actually believe what is on the tags, or do I need to go see a dealer (or PM someone here) with some serials to see whats goin on here.

I have no idea HOW to tell if that engine in your machine is the factory original
but to add more confusion.... 'tags' don't always tell the truth.

Your machine's Courage engine could have been replaced with the newer 7000 version.

Have seen that many times on other makes/models of riders. The original engine breaks the con rod, but it's cheaper to replace the engine then rebuild it. Since they're both Kohlers, it's a simple to swap.
Any idea how old it is ? Engine will have a date code on it, and should be before machine was built.
Say the rider's a 2000 model BUT engine says 2020. That is a good sign the engine was swapped out.
