Heated Visor?

So today I stopped at a garage sale nearby. There were a couple hjc helmets with heated visors in their boxes appearing new. Size xl. Thats too big with no hat on, but would they fit fine with a hardhat liner on, when Id normally use a large?
Also is $75 a fair price for one?
I was thinking one might be great for blowing snow on a windy day.

My $0.30 (inflation) on the matter- leave them where they sit. For a few extremely important reasons:
A "cheaper" helmet that fits correctly will protect the gray space between your ears better than a $1000 helmet that does not fit correctly.
Adding anything inside (as you suggest) or outside (GoPro, steer horns, German spike) will affect the ability of the lid to do its job if the impact is at that spot. Shells deflect energy. The different foams inside absorb it. Changing how they do their job is not in your best interest.
"Aged out" lids also don't protect as well. Heat, cold, humidity and sun take a toll on the materials used for helmets. It all degrades over time. So does their ability to do the one single job they have- protect.

I have a shelf full of crashed helmets. I was sponsored by Shoei for many years. I learned a lot from their tech guys. It doesn't matter if you are in the street or track. Don't cheap out on your noggin.

All fairness I think he's just looking to keep snow and wind off of him, not use it as a crash test dummy receptacle.

Oh, well in that case.......
I use my crashed out helmets as rain race practice helmets. As long as the inner foam is still black (technical story not valid here) .
That said, hit up HJC and see if there are thicker pads you can buy for the liner. That should set you straight. Shoei offers up to 5mm thickness pads to customize the fit. HJC might have the same.

Yup, simply to keep the blowing snow off my face in the winter. Never be used over 7-8 mph

A good thick stocking cap will work too!
And if you need it to sit higher on the noggin get one with a really big pom pom on top!
