Well.... recent readings got me thinking so off to the shop i went.
Now ultimately I pay for all the supplies in the shop but realistically cause I am old most of the stuff is bought by others and put on the maintenance shelves. I also have to admit I have Kubotas as well as JD's, and mixture of other stuff.
Looking at the shelfs I saw:
- about equal amounts of SUDT premium hydro fluid in orange buckets and Mobil red buckets.
- All of the diesel engine oil was Shell.
- Most of the grease tubes were Mobil.
- All the fan and pulley belts were Goodyear.
- Hydraulic hoses in bulk rolls and fittings were Eaton with a little bit of Parker fittings mixed in.
- Filters of all sorts were Baldwin.
- odds and sods of all different type of stuff likely built up over the years like can-am, polaris, evinrude, Fordco, etc...
so am I guilty of Kubota abuse by using non-OEM fluids and replacement parts??? like Shell engine oil, Mobil grease, Goodyear belts, Eaton hoses, Baldwin filter, etc..... and am i killing my equipment.
