I have a G2160 with the 48 inch center discharge deck. The deck gear box seal took an dump and the gear oil followed, leaving me crippled. I have found a RCK54 GR deck somewhat locally for about the parts cost to fix mine. Will this deck fit my tractor? One dealer says yes, another says no. I know that all the center discharge mechanisum will have to be removed but I can live without it. Thanks, wayne

Kubota Tractor Corporation - Illustrated Parts List (kubotausa.com)

Agree to legal, then put in your G2160 tractor model #

Then when you get the list, click the "Local Options" next to that model #

It will show compatible implements for the tractor.

I looked, and all of the mowers were -G models, no -GR listed.

According to my manual for my 2160, there were 3 decks available. A 48, a 54 and a 60" But, they all have specific model numbers. I noted while looking for a possibly smaller deck for mine (60" on it and too hard to handle). Seems like the biggest differences are the gear boxes. Some are rear drive and on the G2160 that will not work

you have to use a G2160 specific deck, whether it be a 48 54 or 60.

THe G1800/1900 decks won't work (tried when I had my 2160), neither will the TG decks. Different lift mechanism among many other differences.

2 reasons I sold my G2160. (1) I hated the electric power steering. (2) hated the center discharge "direct shoot" deck-and there were no other side discharge decks available anywhere for it. So it went to a new owner as soon as it could. He likes the center discharge deck and bagger, he just fills the bagger up, backs up to the neighbor's fence, and dumps the clippings.

this is the kind of thing that happens with older equipment. Parts start getting scarce, no aftermarket support (or very little). So then you have to ask yourself, is it worth keeping it?
