Hey gang. Having issues with my 2013 rtv with a d1105 Kubota diesel. First, it would not start. No fuel out of the pump. Watched several videos, then pulled the pump. Fuel shut of stuck in the off/forward position. Fixed. Couldn't get it to prime, so I replaced the lift pump. Still nothing, but that was my fault. When I reinstalled the pump, I had the knob on the fuel slide too far forward, locking it in the office position.
Ended up buying a new injector pump. After reassembly, got everything primed and running. Idles fine. If you try to accelerate, it boggs down and does. I thought a fuel starvation problem, but after walking behind it, excessive smoke and smell of unburnt diesel when the wife tried to accelerate.
What controls the rate of fuel? I noticed on the new pump, the middle barrel on the output was all the way ccw. 1&3 were in the middle. Any ideas?

Those adjustments are fuel curve, they are set on a bench do not adjust them.

Did you remove all the shims from under the old injection pump and reuse them?

Have you removed the injectors and had them POP tested?

I just reread you issue and it could be that you didn't get the rack pin in the proper location on the governor linkage.

You will get a strong fuel smell if it's not metering or burning the fuel properly.

This happened the first time. The spring couldn't open the fuel. I took the throttle plate off. I know it is the right place.

I haven't. Maybe assuming too much, but it ran great before the rack stuck in the fuel off position.

If it ran great before then something with the Injection pump is wrong or it's install.
Brand new IP. Existing shim was used. With the throttle plate removed, I could physically see the fuel rack pin in the cradle it sits in and verified it was working correctly. I don't know much about the new pump. Not a zexel.
I would have used the old pump, but one of the pins the fuel delivery rod on was missing, or broke off, so I bought a new pump.

Thanks for your help. Love Kubota. We have a 2 seat, a 4 seat rtv and on our third tractor.
