Just purchased a new L4060 HST ROPS Kubota and love it. However I am of short stature (and increasingly older age) and finding the single step up is a bit of a stretch for me. I see where there's a Specialty Company that makes an aftermarket steel double step, but they are only for cab models. The reason they state for this is they feel the frame on the ROPS models are not strong enough to support them. So I'm looking for suggestions on how to solve this problem. Has anyone tried installing one of the universal bolt-on flex steps as an add-on to the existing step? My neighbor is a professional welder who does a lot of work for me. I'm sure he could fabricate something, but I'm guessing we'd have to be aware of the frame "weakness" issue and devise some bracing for two steps. Thanks for your input.

I think a fabricator could reinforce the floor with metal easily. On the other hand, they make steps to allow for big people. I'm pretty sure that there are some here over 300 lbs based on what they've said. I carry 5 gallons of diesel up my step, and I'm sure the heavy people probably do as well. I don't know where your gas fill is.

If you aren't very big, you may not have to reinforce the floor at all.
