I have no problem with the 'data communications protocol' , as I have a PIC to handle that.

How does your PIC know what the Kubota diagnostic data encoding is? I am pretty sure it is not the same as OBDII (SAE J1979). If it were an ordinary scan tool could read and clear codes.
