Cab Mirror Mod

My mirrors were often coming in contact with limbs and folding in on the door making them hard to open and get out of the tractor. This also rendered the mirrors useless until I got out and repositioned them. I decided to reverse them and put them in front of the windshield to stop this from happening. They are still somewhat useful in this position since you can see the sides of the tractor in them through the windshield.

I mounted a piece of ½” PVC conduit to keep the mirrors off the windshield. I attached both ends using a ¾” P-clamp and a washer using the mirror attaching nuts. The mounting hole in the P-clamp was too small for the mirror shaft so I drilled a 3/16” hole in the washer to zip tie it. In hindsight I could have probably just zip tied the PVC to the mirror shaft. I stuck a rubber plug in both ends of the conduit to keep the dirt daubers out.

If you could fab up a support bar that would go from the light bracket to the mirror rod, you can eliminate the pvc going across the mirrors and window. Another project to fill up your free time!! The zip tie option is good also.
