Hello. Wondering if anyone (everyone ? ,more is better ) with a BX23S with a cab can get the noise level (db ) off their smart phone ? Say running at 2500 RPM and WOT ??
Have heard they ARE 'loud' so before i commit to a full cab for next winter...be nice to know.

No actual measurements, but I can comfortably use my de-cabbed BX without hearing protection if needed. A short drive with the cab was just shy of leaving my ears ringing afterwards. Uncomfortable after getting off the tractor for a few minutes, but not actually ringing. I usually use hearing protection without a cab anyway, but it's definitely needed with the cab as mentioned above.

I have a BX23S with the cab and don't need hearing protection, and even though I am in my 80s the last time that I had my hearing tested (2 years ago) I had the best hearing of any person in my age bracket that they have tested. I don't need hearing aides and the noise level isn't a problem for me. I blow snow at 3000 RPM. I don't believe that you can do anything to reduce the noise level in the cabbed BX23S because of how it is made, and I believe that some machines are louder than others. I have a friend who has an open station BX23S and his machine is a lot louder than mine when using the snow blower at similar RPM.
