I was greasing my BX23S backhoe and noticed that one of the o-rings had split and worked its way down the cylinder. I'm assuming that it's important or it wouldn't be there, so my question is whether that is something that I can replace myself or if I need to take it in to a dealer.

The o ring serves no purpose except to keep paint off the cylinder ram when the loader is being painted. Nothing to worry about at all.
