Last year I got a used BX2230, great little tractor. I've now gone to change the oil for the first time and I guess the Incredible Hulk did the last change, because I needed to use a lot of force to break the drain plug free. Well, guess what, either the plug or the pan is stripped out and the plug just spins freely.

I'd like to have everything I need before I force the drain plug out.

I've already ordered a replacement drain plug (13901-33750).

Preparing for the worst, I guess I might need to retap the oil pan, but I don't have the tools

Does someone know the size and thread pitch of the drain plug on this tractor?

Also - if anyone has relevant experience or tips for me, that'd be great!

Thanks a lot!

My semi-educated guess is its BSPP. If ots stripped choices would be a thread repair imsert or drill snd t as p oversize.

You will probably find that the female threads are stripped out of the oil pan. So you won’t be able to simply re-tap the same thread size since there is no material to tap.

You may have to go up one size or get a self tapping plug from an auto parts store.

You can also use a thread repair kit. I would use Time-sert since they have a stopper shoulder and it is a through hole
