Hey Gents, the last few times I have had the tractor out, I have encountered some steering issues.
1st time it happened I was moving some recycled asphalt, then again while mowing, twice. What happens, is I turn the wheel and the wheels do to move in that direction. Last time it happened, actually this past weekend, I had to turn all the way to the left before the power steering started to work again, even then it was not as good as it should be.

I thought I might have low hyd fluid but when I pull the dipstick out at the tranny, its full. I did replace some hyd fluid after one of the front loader cylinders developed a leak, which I had both lift cylinders re-sealed.

Or do I have an issue with the steering valve assembly, if so, is it rebuildable?
thanks for input

North Idaho, who is a moderator here, gave the following troubleshooting advice when I had a similar question in the past. I still haven’t addressed the issue. Another thing that might come in to play is there is a priority flow divider in the hydraulic circuit, and during low hydraulic flow rates steering is given priority hydraulically. I suppose it’s possible if there was something intermittently going on with that flow divider, at normal operating RPM, it could also cause issues with the steering.

(It probably would’ve been better if you posted your question in the service and repair forum…)

Lift the front Wheels off the ground.
With it running:
Slowly turn the wheel, does it still take a while for the wheels to move?
If it does then it could be the controller.

Is it a consistent lag each direction?
Does the steering ever get hard to steer?
Does it change at all when you do a fluid and filter change?
Does it always drift the same direction?

Shut it off:
Grab a tire and try and turn the front end either direction.
Does the tire move?

If it does it's most likely a steering cylinder issue.
