I am troubleshooting what could be a transmission issue from the original thread below. There is a video of the issue there.

Someone suggested that the driveshaft coupler that bolts it to the HST could have come lose and caused it not to sit on the hst splines. I crawled uder and took a video of the driveshaft play, but not sure what is normal on these. Can someone look at the video below and let me know if this is normal of if I should dig deeper? I can see a coupler and bolt that is secure and doesnt move betweent he HST fan and the trans. Would I simply remove the 2 bolts on the connector plate in from of the fan to get a better look? Thanks

I got the tractor moved in to the garage to examine more. It now wont go in to gear at all. It I have link a video of the shift plunger on the tractor moving when I move the hi/low/neutral lever, but the tractor acts like it is ion neutral. I can push it forward and back regardless of geat selection.

First video, your not looking for in and out play, you're looking for rotational play

Second video is the lever moving a switch?
Looks normal to me.

Me too on the second video.

But the thing that caught my eye on the first video, is how shiny the shaft is when moved outwards. That just did not seem normal, but perhaps it is. I mean hydraulic cylinder shafts are shiny like that...but still...just seemed strange to me.

I am interested because I also have a BX2200...

Then the driveshaft is probably okay.

The plunger is supposed to put the trans in gear. Lever is moving the plunger, but not going in gear.
No, the plunger is just an electrical switch.
The lever rotates a shaft (yellow) in to the transmision to change gear ranges.

The boot normally covers the shiny part. ;)

Gotcha. I will look in to this. Maybe I will get lucky and something has disconnected between the lever and the shaft that is supposed to rotate.

Crazy because I wasn't doing anything crazy with the tractor. Using a 4' box blade and removing some sod with the FEL. Tractor has about 1300 hours on it. I have had it for 4 years and have always made sure the fluids and filters are changed.

You need make sure the shaft going into the HST is actually turning the HST.
You could have stripped the splines and that is your issue not the range lever.
To do this, engage the PTO and see if that continues to turn when you try and move the tractor.

You need to take it apart and see what gears have gone, gears are not that expensive.

Your issue very likely is not in the HST, it's behind the HST, in the range gear setup.
