BX2670 tractor

I was mowing, hit tree root. Moved lever to stop blades. Stopped tractor, restarted ,blades will not engage.
Lever has no tension.

This is my 911 call....

I haven't looked into this yet. I have both of my machines in shop. This tractor is loaner unit shop allows me to use.
I was thinking, since lever was moving so easily that cable or link was damaged. Hope to correct this myself...not trailer in there unit...broken.

They make exceptions and will most likely give you a pass on the problem. Hitting a tree root shouldn't kill the unit. Most likely it will be an easy fix for the dealer. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Seems weird that the lever has no tension - I don't see how that relates to hitting a root easily. Have you knocked the PTO select lever from mid-PTO to rear PTO or something, in your hurry to disengage?

I don't think those units have a shear pin, they rely on the belts to slip on the pulleys as a "clutch". At least that's how mine always behaves.

I reviewed the WSM and see no shear pins.
The Trouble shooting section for blades not turning says mid pto or broken belt
If the belt is not broken you need to determine if the mid pto is getting engaged, i.e. turning.
Start by seeing if the rear pto can be made to rotate.

Which lever, the engage/disengage lever or the PTO shaft selector lever?
The engage/disengage lever only controls a valve that sends oil flow to the PTO clutch pack.
